Domaine Daurion is the Sleeping Beauty of the Languedoc. An historical family-owned estate of approximately 55 hectares, located in Caux, on the basaltic hills of Pézenas. Built on a prehistoric volcanic site, the origin of the estate dates back to 1709, but the first traces of viticulture date back to Roman times. This heritage, passed down through several generations saw our predecessor at Daurion introduce the first Chardonnay vines planted in the Languedoc in the mid-1970s. This unique aspect of the estate gives us an important advantage in producing white wines.

Committed to nature and a respect for the land, all our vines have been cultivated organically since 2020, with personalized treatments for each plot. Each of our wines are highly characteristic of their individual soils with basalt, clay-limestone, and Villefranchian terroirs. Our goal is to extract all of the freshness and minerality possible from our soils to partner harmoniously with the fabulous fruit provided by our grapes. This is made possible with the help of an abundance of Occitan sunshine.

Our ethical approach in the vineyard is to meet the needs of our vines in order that they produce quality organic grapes. In the cellar we employ minimum oak ageing (only in our traditional AOP and Pezenas range) opting for the more gentle but dynamic results from amphora’s, concrete eggs, terracotta jars and stainless glass bottomed barrels. These methods allow you to fully enjoy our fabulous grapes and soil varieties at their best and allow us to re-introduce the wines of the Languedoc from a new perspective.
