SBC Benoit Chapelle was established in 1990 by Mr. Jean-François BECK. Located in Beaune, SBC is known as a professional wine trader and it has supplied all kinds of wine for catering industry in France and export in Mainland China for more than 30 years.
In his early years, Mr. Beck has helped his father-in-law, Mr. Paul CHAPELLE -- the most well-known œnologist in Burgundy at the 1980s – for the investigation of geology and “Climats” in Hebei China, according to the invitation of Chinese government. They also shared viticulture and vinification techniques to Chinese wine growers. In 1990, Mr. Beck left his position as the general manager of Hotel de La Poste in Beaune, created his own company Benoit Chapelle and totally joined Mr. Chapelle's family winery Domaine Paul Chapelle. From 1990 to 2006, the two visited China every year. After 2006, due to healthy problems, Mr. Chapelle stopped international travels but Mr. Beck continued this mission. At the same time, Mr. Beck vinified with Mr. Chapelle at Domaine Paul Chapelle for 19 years. The experience in China and France has given Mr. Beck a deep understanding of the wine industry, as well as a multicultural background.
In 2019, Mr. Beck established a subsidiary BeiNuoJia Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, to promote premixed cocktails developed in 2008 by Benoit Chapelle. In 2023, Mr Beck launched the new project: wine tourism, to provide enthusiasts with real experiences of Burgundy culture and lifestyle.
